[China Sunergy begins manufacturing in Turkey]
Chinese solar module and cell manufacturer China Sunergy is set to start production in Turkey this month with a 150 MW module production line at its new plant in Istanbul's Trade Free Zone, developed with domestic manufacturer Seul Energy Investment Corp.
A planned 100 MW line for manufacturing cells is expected to come online in March and, if successful, China Sunergy is planning to ship a further 200 MW of equipment from Shanghai to Istanbul by March, subject to "market dynamics" and the progress of the Turkish facility, according to a press release from CSUN Eurasia, one of three companies created by China Sunergy and Seul in September.
