[Korea] 60 MW fuel cell power plant has been approved

Achieving 100% energy self sufficient city is becoming real to Daegu's technopolis. According to Daegu and related organizations, SPC called "Daegu Green Energy" has been founded for 60 MW fuel cell power plant business. Shares are divded into different companies: KEPCO (28%), LG CNS (25%), Hwa Sung Industrial Co., Ltd (23%), and Dae Sung Energy Co., Ltd (23%).

Total business will be operated by KEPCO, and LG CNS is in charge of EPC including designing, purchasing, and constructing power plant. Hwa Sung is in charge of environment and public works, and Dae Sung is in charge of supplying fuel (gas).

In addition, the government has approved the business. At 199th meeting of Korea Electricity Commision, the government approved to operate the business as a power plant. Therefore, Daegu Green Energy will be able to start its construction within first half of 2017 if every other step goes well.

The total capacity of renewable energy power plant is 100 MW including 60 MW of fuel cell, 10 MW of solar energy, 10 MW of ESS, and 20 MW of geothermal and convergence energy.
