Jeollanamdo is expanding its new and renewable energy supply for public facilities.
Jeollanamdo announced on Feb 20th, 2017 that district government will supply solar generation facilities and solar water heater facilities to 15 public locations including Gwangyang gymnasium, Yeosu women cultural center, Gurye youth training center to efficiency of energy usage and invigoration of new and renewable energy supply.
Local new and renewable energy support project was funded by national and local expenses, and was building solar generation facilities, solar water heater facilities, geothermal facilities and others at total of 307 locations until 2016 to boost the efficiency of energy usage.
In 2016, Jeollanamdo earned the same effect of substitution of importing 278t of crude oil and reducing 303t of carbon dioxide by installing solar generation facilities with the capacity of 977 kW at 20 locations including Mokpo government building (30 kW), Suncheon youth training center (392 kW), and Yeongam Wangin historic site (50 kW).
District government is expecting to earn the effect of substitution of importing 354t of crude oil and reducing 386t of carbon dioxide by installing total of 1,245 kW at 15 locations.
Hyeon Oh Yu, head of energy industry division at Jeollanamdo, comments that local government will do the best to improve its supply of new and renewable energy and reducing he existing energy usage that fits into the local atmosphere, and improve energy independence by cooperating with Korea Energy Agency.
